I’m not sure alot of folks are noticing what is happening in Colombia. Indigenous people are taking their ancestral territories back, one hundred soldiers at a time. This of course has unleashed an avalanche of racism, one that is barely concealed in a supposedly polite company anyway (that is open for business after the Obama FTA), and that only needs such a threat to the government propaganda in the sold out press to be unchained in its hatred and white supremacy, Colombia style. And more overkill state terrorism.
No se si mucha gente se ha dado cuenta de lo que pasa en Colombia. Pueblos Indígenas estan retomando sus territorios ancestrales, cien soldados a la vez. Esto, por supuesto, ha desatado una ola de racismo, el cual de todos modos no esta muy oculto en una sociedad supuestamente culta (la cual esta abierta pal negocio después de la ALC de Obama), y cual solo necesita esta amenaza a la propanganda del gobierno en los medios vendidos para desencadenar su odio y la supremacía blanca, de estilo colombiano. Y aun hay más aplastador terrorismo del estado.
La Guardia Indígena, initiativa del pueblo Nasa, es un grupo de y en la comunidades que se protegen por medio de la agrupación del CRIC (Consejo Regional Indígena del Cauca) y del ACIN (Asociación de Cabildos Indígena del Norte del Cauca). Cada grupo de miembros de las varias comunidades se comprometen a defender a ellas contra los actores armados (guerrilla, paramilitares, ejercito) en la construcción de la autonomia comunitaria.
The Indigenous Guard, an initiative of the Nasa people, is a group in and of the communities that protect themselves via the grouping of the CRIC (Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca) and the ACIN (Asociacion of Indigenous Cabildos of the North of Cauca). Each group of members of the various communities commit themselves to defend themselves from the armed actors (guerrilla, paramilitaries, national armed forces) in the construction of community autonomy.
It is clear and true what the Nasa communities say that they will no longer be caught in the crossfire of the national armed forces with their paramilitary henchmen against the guerrilla. Several of us who visited these communities recently witnessed directly the cross fire these communities are caught in. These Indigenous communities, and Afro communities have declared themselves in resistance to this raging war, that began with the Bogotazo of 1948, as they try to make Colombia recognize their existence and to fight for their autonomy and self determination in this pluri ethnic & racial society.
Es claro y verdad lo que dicen las comunidades Nasa cuando dicen que no van a ser sometidos a estar en medio de estos tiroteos de la fuerza “publica” con sus verdugos paramilitares contra la guerrilla. Varios quienes visitamos a estas comunidades vimos directamente estos tiroteos en cuales estas comunidades viven. Estas comunidades Indígenas, y las Afro Colombianas se han declarado en resistencia a esta guerra furiosa, la cual comenzo con el Bogotazo del 1948, mientras tratan de hacer a Colombia reconocer su existencia y su lucha para su autonomía y auto determinación en esta sociedad pluri ethnica y pluri racial.
In a world armed to the teeth, it is incredibly stunning that a people defend themselves by means of their dignity and this is what the Indigenous Guard represents. It is not what one is against, but what Indigenous and Afro Colombians are for, that really matters, and reclaiming your culture, your ancestral lands, your language, your cosmology, your way of being in the world is a profound way to defend oneself.
En un mundo con armamentos hasta el tope, es asombroso que un pueblo se defienda por medio de su dignidad y esto es lo que representa la Guardia Indígena. No es a lo que se opone, pero a que estan en favor los Indígenas y los Afro Colombianos, eso es lo que vale la pena – recoger su cultura, sus tierras ancestrales, si lengua, su cosmologia, su modo de ser en el mundo es un modo profundo para defenderse.
Hemos visto algunos ejemplos parecidos de impulsar a la autonmía comunitaria en la historia del mundo, y como podemos respaldar a este hoy?!! Adelante pueblo!
