Hierbas Madre Tierra Herbs – Boogie Down Plantain/Lavandin Salve

Lavender Farm in Oregon

Image via Wikipedia

Yes, folks, I made this salve on the hottest July 6th on record in NYC history, 103 F degrees!

I picked the plantain leaves in the Boogie Down Bronx, added some almond oil and a bit of olive oil, more than a pinch of beeswax, and some drops of Lavandin (the less expensive Lavender cousin), and voila, cuajo like a salve for the skin!

Plantain is this great, great herb that many people think is a weed, but in reality, is the most intense drawing herb.  It draws out poison (snake or insect bites of all kinds, the latter to which I can attest personally), splinters, pus and other infections.

And the lavandin  essential oil is just a little treat to add in for soothing smoothness and the nerves.  The almond and olive oils are also great for the skin.
