So, I have not seen any discussion of this any where, but I thought it was very interesting, and the lack of discussion even more so, that the 6.6 magnitude earthquake in Iran in 2003, in Bam, a city thousands of years old, was deemed natural. No discussion of the reality of the West “bombing Afghanistan back to the stone age”, their words, and bombing Iraq too, just for the convenience of it to get rid of that embarrassing buddy of Rumsfeld’s.
The thing is, on any map, and people living on the border areas, can see that Afghanistan on one side and Iraq on the other serve as pinchers around Iran, and if you are bombing the hell out of both places, um, maybe the fault lines, plates or earth in Iran are gonna shift. I’m no scientist, but it seems, it would be good to listen to some intuition about the earth, que no?
Over 26,000 people died and large parts of the city were destroyed, since it was largely built of mud brick buildings, kinda like adobe.
Can we learn to live with the earth, and realize our actions have consequences? I had not heard of any previous earthquake activity there, so the idea that we keep progressing across the years doesn’t seem to hold. It is up to us.
I’ve been thinking of this for a long time, by the way.
