Piedad Córdoba, a fierce progressive Afro Colombian woman has worked for a more peaceful and just Colombia for years, negotiated for the government with the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) to release hostages, to increase justice and to reduce violence.
Now she is accused of being a FARC member, a collaborator of the guerrilla, and she was illegally removed from the Senate, all by the very same paramilitary/paraco mafia known as the oligarchy who control Colombia and who have soaked the society with blood and prevented democracy from working. Colombia is a country ruled by impunity, where there is little accountability, the rich have the country on lock down, where there is little to no justice, where the government gives up sovereignty to the the multi-nationals and the Obama-led U.S. military.
It is also a society of fierce freedom fighters, fierce liberation movements like the CRIC, like the Mujeres de la Ruta Pacifica, la Organización Feminina, la ONIC, AFRODES, the student movement, the union movement, the LGBT movement, the women’s movement, the movement for a peaceful democracy built on justice, tod@s pa’ la protección de la Madre Tierra.
We say “JUSTICE NOW!” for Piedad Córdoba, justice for the Colombian people, the land is for those who work it, end the drug war, the drug trade, the genocide and ecocide the multinationals are doing against La Madre Tierra, the Indigenous of Colombia, the Afro Colombians, the union activists, women, against LGBT folks.
Shut Killer Coke down! Boycott Coca Cola!
We will keep marching, calling out the asesinos who make up the Colombian government.
Thanks to the brother who joined to provide the powerful drumming. ¡Que VIVA Colombia Libre!
